ReplyDeleteMy sister has bipolar disorder she lives in Escondido. In July she changed her medication from the shot of abilify to the pills. Sadly she started going manic . Our family has been dealing with this for 10 years . So my dad quickly called the cops and pert to come and put a 72 hr hold on her while we would try to get ahold of doctors and try to get her back on the right medication. She has a two year old and is an awesome kind mother who loves her son extremely so! The cops and Pert team wouldn’t do anything even though she was hardly making any sense and told them that my dad wasn’t her father when obviously he is. For whatever reason they just wouldn’t do anything to help us and the officers basically told my dad to wait till she commits a crime. That night she probably couldn’t sleep and left in the night the people that she lives with found her son and my dad quickly came and got him. While for whatever reason she went to a bank and tried to take a guys backpack (obviously not in her right mind) the cops arrested her and they gave her two felonies one for leaving her son and one for robbery. she is now in jail and my dad is taking care of her son. PERT AND THE POLICE COULD HAVE COMPLETELY AVOIDED THIS HOLE SITUATION HAD THEY DONE WHAT WE ASKED THEM TO. Or if they would have looked up her past information would have known that this similar situations have happened before and helped us. Instead of waiting for her to commit a crime and put her in jail. The system is totally horrible and so very sad! The people that need help the most can’t get the help they need unless they go completely out of their minds! If people are asking for help I don’t understand why they refuse to help and basically say to wait till something worse happens.
